Team Overview

Orbit Racing is a multi-faceted business that includes a successful sports-car race team, a race preparation and parts store, a high-performance Porsche parts distributorship and an engine and chassis building and tuning facility. The Orbit crew fine-tunes some of the most exotic Porsche cars on the road.

Orbit Racing started the 2004 season in victory lane, with first place in the GT class and second overall in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. The team led the class for 22 hours 23 minutes of the 24-hour race. In 2003, Orbit also scored an impressive second-place GT finish in the 24 Heures du Mans, after qualifying third. The team has progressed from top-10 finishes to podiums and victory in just three seasons of sports-car racing.

A partial season was also done in the Grand American Series with Jim Matthews' Daytona Prototype. Karting was also added to the Orbit Racing portfolio of services. In 2006, Orbit Racing moved into a brand new shop with expanded capabilities.
