Biography
Angelelli returns to Rolex Series Daytona Prototype competition in 2009 – again part of the SunTrust Racing team. He will run with team owner Wayne Taylor, teammate Brian Frisselle and former Formula 1 driver Pedro Lamy in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
Personal
Angelelli trained to become an Olympic swimmer until he found his passion in racing. Early in his career, he raced for a prosciutto ham company and was paid not in Italian lira for his services but with ham. On Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays, he made the rounds at local restaurants and sold his ham to earn a living.

Collected one victory, three podiums and six top 10s in stellar Rolex Series Daytona Prototype comeback following a transporter fire - which destroyed the team's car and equipment - to take sixth in points.
Finished third in Rolex Series Daytona Prototype points, winning twice with Jan Magnussen and notching 12 top 10s in 14 starts.
Finished fourth in final Rolex Series Daytona Prototype driver points, winning once and tallying five podiums overall.
Logged five wins and 10 podiums in championship season with Wayne Taylor. Earned first-team AARWBA selection.
Teamed with Wayne Taylor in Rolex Series Daytona Prototypes, collecting three wins, eight podiums and eight fast laps en route to fourth in driver points. Was GM factory driver in SCCA World Challenge, winning twice and collecting three poles en route to third in points.
